The story of Aalto’s design thinking, where buildings and design live in perfect harmony with nature and the people who inhabit them.
In the Aalto vision, architecture, art and design are inseparable parts of a unicum. Buildings that have become icons influencing architects all over the world and design objects that, also thanks to the firm’s focus on low-cost mass production, have entered many people’s homes and are still in production today.
“True architecture exists only where the human being stands in the center,” Alvar Aalto, 1958.
The exhibition presents 11 projects realised by the Aalto studio throughout its entire professional career in an experimental layout that helps to offer visitors different ways of understanding the studio’s work.
