The exhibition tackles Guidi’s research, one of the leading figures in Italian photography, from an unprecedented vantage point, his archive: home, artist’s studio, place of work, life and meeting place for young authors.
A privileged access to his ‘theory’ of photography and its processes, its links with the history of art, with masters and with other Italian and foreign photographers. More than 350 photographs on display, almost all vintage and with numerous previously unpublished works, result from intense research work conducted alongside the photographer in his studio. Also displayed are the notebooks, documents, books, proofs, paintings, cameras and a film by director Alessandro Toscano.
In collaboration with ICCD – Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione.
