MAXXI’s Collection of Art and Architecture represents the founding element of the museum and defines its identity. Since October 2015, it has been on display with different arrangements of works.
videogallery – free admittance
curated by Irene de Vico Fallani, Giulia Lopalco
A wide selection of video works, themes and protagonists at the heart of MAXXI’s Collection and its exhibition programming.
In addition to galleria 1 and 3, the new rearrangement of the MAXXI Collection includes the Museum’s videogallery. As in a journey through time, different gazes and languages of great artists – Italian and international – bring to attention the past, memories and myths linked to historical places and events, address the present, the significant transformations of contemporary society and point to a more inclusive, sustainable future, characterized by a new balance between man and nature.
With works by the artists:
Jennifer Allora & Guillermo Calzadilla, Yuri Ancarani, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Ila Bêka & Louise Lemoîne, Elisa Caldana, Cao Fei, Gea Casolaro, Chto Delat, Tomaso De Luca, Gianluca & Massimiliano De Serio, Chia-En Jao, Malik Nejmi, Vladimir Nikolic, Oliver Ressler, Mario Rizzi, Shahzia Sikander, Diego Tonus, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Wang Jianwei, Mary Zygouri.
