Time, vapour and breath transform air into sculptural matter.
Audience and performers share air and presence: breathing is the body’s first individual autonomous action. Its beginning gives life and its disappearance is the sign of the end.
In the action created by Francesca Grilli in 2016, the performers, whose biography is marked by a history of migration or who work with migrant people, move in a space filled with steam together with the audience: their breathing is amplified by some megaphones and is lost in the sound of the steam escaping into the air.
