A series of events devoted to the culture of the Land of the Rising Sun through the history of the Japanese garden in its various poetic stylistic forms and the ancient Japanese art of Ikebana.
Sofu Teshigahara founded the Ikebana Sogetsu school in 1927 and it was immediately distinguished by a didactic and modern approach. The art of Sogetsu is characterised by its innovative vision, becoming a true three-dimensional sculpture that can be created a placed anywhere with its ties to the world of art (Sofu), design (Kasumi, daughter of Sofu), theatre (the third director of the school, Hiroshi) and the school (Akane, the current director). The school introduced the “free style” and allowed creativity for all while maintain the precise rules and ideas of traditional Ikebana.
